It is with great sadness we have to advise the passing of long term club servant Len Binks. He died last Saturday in hospital
after a long illness. Len got involved with the club soon after his son Stephen had started playing for us in 1974. In that period
Len filled many roles for us, starting out as social secretary, going on to be treasurer and then to being a team manager and
finally, he was our vice chairman, a position he held until ill health stopped him. Whenever help was needed Len was there, he
took a referees course and qualified, when we were short of referees. When we put up the pavilion, Len a qualified plumber, did
all the plumbing. In more recent years many of you will remember Len and his wife Doris serving burgers and teas in our
pavilion club room.
Thanks for all you did for the club Len. It is a better club for having had you as a member.
Lens funeral was Wednesday 5th March.
Six games played last Sunday, with us winning four and losing two. Most notable, a gallant effort by our under 12 Black team,
who lost their semi final in the cruellest way, 10-9 on penalties, the game had finished 0-0 after extra time. Our under 10s

Parking at our ground is still very difficult with very muddy conditions. It would be appreciated if our supporters who
know the area would park two or three hundred yards before the ground, but not in the Close beyond our gates.
Residents have complained about being blocked in and also that mud and litter has been left behind.
Our Soccer School for five to ten year olds continues every Saturday morning, 10.30am-12.00noon at our ground. It is
free of charge and no booking is required, just turn up on the day.
